Lib Dem parlimentary candidate, Craig Fletcher bucked the Lib Dem national trend and made a big gain in the Romsey & Southampton North constiuency. The Lib Dems, which had a hard working ground campaign lead by many volunteers gained over 6,000 votes and increased their vote by 11.8% in the vote. The performance by the Lib Dems cut the conservative majority to 10,872 votes.
